There are many events throughout the year which you can participate in to help the Ontario SPCA SD&G Branch. For more information about the events listed below, please contact Carol Link at clink@ospca.on.ca or contact the Branch at (613) 936-0072.

If you are interested in hosting your own event with the proceeds going to the Ontario SPCA SD&G Branch to help animals, please let us know by emailing clink@ospca.on.ca. We can provide you with more information on how this can be done and we’d also love to thank you! If you are interested in sponsoring an event, or would like to learn more about upcoming opportunities, please let us know!

Events and fundraisers for 2010 to support the shelter:

• Zellers Family Fun Day- August 21st from 10am to 3pm. Dunk Tank, Games, prizes and fun. Come support the shelter- A chance to sponsor your duck for the duck race too. For more info, phone the shelter at 613-936-0072
  
  
• Duck Race- Quack, Woof, Meow- the first annual duck race is going to take place on August 28th at the Rotary Gardens behind the Wing. The ducks leave the starting gate at noon. The race is coming up quickly and duck tickets are going fast. Come to the shelter now and sponsor your dog or cat shaped duck for only $5.00. Come the day of the race and sponsor your duck before noon. There will be a BBQ on site.
  
  First prize is $500.00, 2nd prize $100.00, 3rd prize $50.00. You do not need to be there to win, just your duck needs to be in the water. A great family fun event. Have you got your duck yet? If not, get one soon... and win big!!!
  
  
• Yard Sale- September 11th & 12th TWO DAYS- The last yard sale of the Summer supporting the OSPCA. Come out, get a hot dog, buy a treasure and help out our furry friends. Donations will be accepted after September 2nd, 2010- PLEASE NO ELECTRONICS WILL BE ACCEPTED- such as big tvs, old computer monitors etc- sorry. Sale will be behind the shelter- in the educational building- freecycle table on the front lawn with the BBQ.
  
  
• October- Penny Drive- Look for the big donation containers at various store locations around town. Give your pennies to help the puppies at the shelter. Store locations coming soon.
  
  
• November- Cooking for Critters- the OSPCA Cook book is in production now. Get all the best cooking mixes for your little furry friends. More details to come.
  
  
• Dancing with the Equine Stars- 2nd Annual- This event will take place October 3rd, 2010. An excellent event- watch the horses and their friends put on a show. There will be draws, bake table and more. ( www.droghedamanor.com)
  
  
• Pet Pics with Santa. December 4th- Come out with your pet and meet Santa. Have a 5x7 pic taken with the jolly St. Nick, a wonderful momento for the years to come. An annual fundraiser for the shelter. Cost $12.00 per photo. Frame provided.
  
  Events for 2011
  
• Motorcycle Fun Run will take place August 13th, 2011 at NavCan. Departing at 9am. Pledge forms will be available in the New Year and another exciting run will be planned.
