There are many events throughout the year which you can participate in to help the Ontario SPCA SD&G Branch. For more information about the events listed below, please contact Carol Link at clink@ospca.on.ca or contact the Branch at (613) 936-0072.

If you are interested in hosting your own event with the proceeds going to the Ontario SPCA SD&G Branch to help animals, please let us know by emailing clink@ospca.on.ca. We can provide you with more information on how this can be done and we’d also love to thank you! If you are interested in sponsoring an event, or would like to learn more about upcoming opportunities, please let us know!

Events and fundraisers for 2010 to support the shelter:

  • February 27th- Promo table at Wal-Mart- Come and see us at our table, positioned at the front entrance. Speak to a volunteer about how you can help the animals waiting for a home. Have a question about the shelter- have someone to answer it. We will be there from 9am to 3pm

  • March 4th- Volunteer Fair- See us at our table at this annual event- Speak to shelter representatives about volunteer opportunities. Fair will be held at the Cornwall Civic Complex from 1 to 7pm

  • March 6th- Food drive for the shelter- Baxtrom's Indpendant Grocer- 9th Street- Come out and see how you can help the animals. Speak to the volunteers. We will be there from 9am to 3pm. See you there!

  • March 13th- Woof, Meow, Quack- Come out to the Eastcourt Mall and sponsor your duck for the 1st Annual duck race for the OSPCA. Sponsor your dog or cat duck for $5.00 each, and have a chance at $500.00 grand prize.

  • March Break Camp- March 15, 16, 17. For ages 6 to 9 years old. Come out and enjoy the fun at Camp Bark- Have fun with your furry friends, learn, make crafts and have fun. Camp is full- space is limited. Price: $90.00

  • Wing & Fries Night- March 27th- Got Cabin Fever? Then Let's Party- Knight's of Columbus Hall, 205 Amelia Street- 6pm to 1am. Dinner will be served 6pm to 8pm. Cost: $12.00 ea in advance, $15.00 ea at the door. Tickets includes wings & fries or spaghetti and admission to live band "Systems Edge". Live music, great food, silent auction, door prizes. Tickets available at the OSPCA, Comet's Pet Salon, Dandoo's Hair Salon, Knight's of Columbus Hall, and the organizer Chantal Chamois 933-7148. This event will be held in loving memory of Comet July 1995 to Jan.2009..

  • April 10th- Woof, Meow, Quack- Come out to the Eastcourt Mall and sponsor your duck for the 1st Annual duck race for the OSPCA. Sponsor your dog or cat duck for $5.00 each, and have a chance at $500.00 grand prize.

  • April 24th- Woof, Meow, Quack- Come out to the Eastcourt Mall and sponsor your duck for the 1st Annual duck race for the OSPCA. Sponsor your dog or cat duck for $5.00 each, and have a chance at $500.00 grand prize.

  • Friends for Life Walk a thon- May 30th- Grey's Creek Conservatory- Get your pledges started now. Come walk your dog(s) and support the animal shelter. Contact Carol Link for more info. Registration time is 9:00am and walk begins at 10:00am. Lunch is on site. Prizes for top pledges. Download your pledge forms here: http://www.walkathon.ontariospca.ca/  You can also register online and collect more pledges from friends and family, near and far.

  • June 5th- Giant Tiger Alexandria- Hwy 34- Woof, Meow, Quack- Come out to sponsor your duck for the 1st Annual duck race for the OSPCA. Sponsor your dog or cat duck for $5.00 each, and have a chance at $500.00 grand prize.

  • June 26th- Chartrand's Independant Grocer- Alexandria- Main Street- Woof, Meow, Quack- Come out to sponsor your duck for the 1st Annual duck race for the OSPCA. Sponsor your dog or cat duck for $5.00 each, and have a chance at $500.00 grand prize.

  • Annual OSPCA- June 12. Come out and find your treasure and help our furry friends all at the same time. BBQ onsite. Donations will be accepted beginning June 1st, 2010.

  • Camp Bark- July 5-9 or July 12-16th. Kids can come out for a week of fun and learning at this camp. Have fun with your furry friends, learn about animals from guest speakers, make crafts, have fun and more. Spaces are limited. For more info phone the shelter at (613) 936-0072. Cost for one week of camp is $150.00

  • July 24- BBQ- Giant Tiger Cornwall- Come out and enjoy some hot BBQ food and support the animal shelter. Times to be announced.

  • July 30th-August 1st- Come help us celebrate Morrisburgs 150th Anniversarry of the founding of the town. We will be there with our promo table, ducks to sponsor, and more. Details to come.

  • Motorcycle Fun Run- August 14th- Registration forms available very soon. Collect pledges (minimum $25.00) and then come out and do the run. Registration will take place at NavCan on Montreal Road (near Wellness Center, parking lot #5). Lunch and prizes will be provided. Pick up your registration forms at the shelter.

  • Duck Race- Quack, Woof, Meow- the first annual duck race is going to take place on August 28th at the Rotary Gardens behind the Wing. Sponsor your duck in the coming months, and settle the age old question, do cats rule and dogs drool or the reverse? More details to come!!!

  • Camp Bark- August 9-13th or August 16-20th. Kids can come out for a week of fun and learning at this camp. Have fun with your furry friends, learn about animals from guest speakers, make crafts, have fun and more. Space is limited. For more info phone the shelter at (613) 936-0072.   • Yard Sale- September 11th- The last yard sale of the Summer supporting the OSPCA. Come out, get a hot dog, buy a treasure and help out our furry friends. Donations will be accepted after September 2nd, 2010

  • October- Penny Drive- Look for the big donation containers at various store locations around town. Give your pennies to help the puppies at the shelter. Store locations coming soon.

  • November- Cooking for Critters- the OSPCA Cook book is in production now. Get all the best cooking mixes for your little furry friends. More details to come.

  • Dancing with the Equine Stars- 2nd Annual- This event will take place October 3rd, 2010. An excellent event- watch the horses and their friends put on a show. There will be draws, bake table and more. ( www.droghedamanor.com)

  • Pet Pics with Santa. December 4th- Come out with your pet and meet Santa. Have a 5x7 pic taken with the jolly St. Nick, a wonderful momento for the years to come. An annual fundraiser for the shelter. Cost $12.00 per photo. Frame provided.
